Ski tours in the State of Salzburg

The Gastein Valley is a hotspot for ski touring

More and more people are preferring ski touring to the classic slopes. The feeling of having reached the peak under your own steam after all the effort is simply indescribable. You are also closer to tranquil nature than almost ever before and can immerse yourself fully in the winter scenery. Breathtaking views and a snack up at the peak are the icing on the cake with your ski touring adventure.

You have the perfect opportunities to go on unforgettable ski tours during your winter holiday in the Gastein Valley. The 40 km long valley offers numerous snow-covered slopes to the left and right that invite you to enjoy ski tours and downhill runs in powder snow. What are you waiting for?

Equipment and safety

Please note for every ski tour: You are moving through untouched and mostly unprepared terrain, therefore certain knowledge is essential to avoid taking any unnecessary risks. Both the terrain and snow conditions have to be correctly assessed and an avalanche transceiver and probe are just as much part of the standard equipment as skis, skins and a helmet.

It is best to place your trust in a guide for your first ski tour, who you can book in the Gastein Valley.
